Birds That Start With C and Have 5 Letters

Birds are put under the class Aves, and they modified forelimbs as wings. There are approximately 10,000 known bird species distributed among a vast range of habitats, from tropical rain forests to icy shores according to IUCN.  Birds look beautiful because of the multicolor feather. There are also birds who are featherless but they are not naturally born like that. Due to Psittacine Beak and Feather Disease (PBFD) birds do loss feather,  one such popular example is a parrot called Rhia.

Of the total ten thousand bird species, the name of the birds start from a to z. We did an attempt to list the name of birds with five letters, and they start with alphabet C.

1. Carib

A tropical blackbird breeds in the Lesser Antilles and northern South America east of the Andes, from Colombia east to Venezuela and north-eastern Brazil.

There are a total of eight races, of which the most widespread race is the nominate Q. l. lugubris of Trinidad and the South American mainland.

 

2. Comet

It is a medium-sized hummingbird found in the central Andes of Bolivia and Argentina, in Chile and in Peru. These hummingbirds live in the deciduous forests collecting nectar from shrubs.

 

3. Cutia

They got their name from the Nepali word Khutya for the species which live in the Himalayas. The Cutia has also a distribution of species to montane forests of continental South and Southeast Asia. The two species are Himalayan cutia,(Cutia nipalensis), Vietnamese cutia(Cutia legalleni).

 

4. Crake

It is also called Black Crake which is a waterbird in rail and crake family. They mostly live in the sub-Saharan area, but not in arid regions. The flesh of the black crake is not that good to taste that’s why there are hunted less. They are diurnal and feed on insects and small vertebrates.

 

5. Crane

Cranes are waterbirds having long legs and long thin neck. They eat insects to fish to small vertebrates to grains and berries. You can find Crane in every continent except South America and Antarctica. Altogether there are about 15 species of Crane distributed in four genera.

 

6. Campo

They are the woodpecker family. These are some Countries where they are found are Brazil, Bolivia, Paraguay, Uruguay and northeastern Argentina.  Included species are Campo Flicker, Campo Miner, Campo Oriole, Campo Suiriri.

 

7. Cocoa

Cocoa woodcreeper (Xiphorhynchus susurrans) is a passerine bird in the woodcreeper subfamily of the ovenbird family.

 

We may miss a few of them as it is impossible to collect information about all the new discoveries of Birds. But we will update this with more Bird Names that start with C and have 5 letters.
